Puppy Love

I've never had a dog growing up. So, getting two dogs at once, was crazy. Two years ago, I was excited with the idea.
But when these little rascals arrived home, my patience was put to the test - A very long test.
I did prepare myself for this. I did some research. I read books on how to house-break the puppies. I knew it was not going to be easy but I went on.
I also hoped that one day these dogs of mine would be able to fetch my newspaper and get me a beer just like on TV. LOL
The truth is, it wasn't that bad. As a first time dog owner, I was able to paper train my 'doggies' in a week or so.
Today, both of them are well-trained by me. One might think that they were sent to an obedience school.
And as a first time dog owner, I am proud to say I raised my 'kids' well. LOL

Meet my lovely dogs =)

This is Cindy.
She was supposed to be an American Cocker Spaniel- at least that's what the breeder told us. But as it turned out, she is an English Cocker.

We love her just the same.
I named her after the famous line "Move over, Cindy (Crawford)!"
She is very sweet. She likes to give lots and lots of kisses. She is very jealous if the other dog gets attention that she feels that she deserves.
She follows me around and must be by my side at all times.
She doesn't like riding in the car as she gets car sick after a long ride.
She is not picky with foods, she even eats vegetables and fruit.
If she could only speak, she would beg me every night to sleep in my bed.
Cindy has lovely brown eyes. She can wink by command. Of course she likes to have her belly rubbed and will roll over to present her belly for you to rub whenever you sit next to her. She uses her beautiful brown eyes to beg, very effectively.
She is shy and when meeting people for the first time she is a little timid. However, if you give her a belly rub or a cookie, she instantly becomes your best friend. She will do anything for a cookie. :) Lastly, when she is excited she will wag her bobbed tail so vigorously that her entire back side wiggles...sometime literally lifting her hind quarters off of the ground.

Meet Diva.

Yes, she is a self-proclaimed DIVA.
This beagle likes to be pursued just to eat. She doesn't have problem eating, she just needs to be invited and made to feel that the meal was created especially for her. And she would check first if Cindy is eating before herself - Cindy has to test it first to make sure that the queen isn't going to be poisoned. She also eats like a french woman, savouring the food and taking her sweet time - eating one morsel at a time.

She cleans herself religiously spending particular attention on her paws. She doesn't particularly like to give kisses but is very affectionate. She is happy to be alone and sometimes will just simply go to the crate and take a nap just to be done with Cindy's hyper-activity for awhile. She likes to pose for the camera - again manifesting that she is truly a diva. The most particular Diva moment has to be when she puts all the toys in her mouth so that Cindy can't have any of them. Should Cindy get a toy that she doesn't 'deserve' then Diva will just look at her and growl until Cindy is forced to look for another toy which is deemed 'permissible.' She loves to go for a ride in the car and gets so excited when she sees the leash come out of the closet. If I take too long after taking the leash out of the closet before putting it on her, she lets me know with a sharp high-pitched yelp as if to say, "hey, let's get this show on the road already!"''Pffft! Whatever"-Diva.

She's not easily bought off with promises of treats or affection.
